4 Misconceptions about Limo Services

4 Misconceptions about Limo Services

There are some misconceptions out there about limo services that make people feel compelled to avoid them. However, do not listen to these misconceptions because they really are not true for most limo companies. Continue reading to find out about four common misconceptions about limo services and how to combat them to the best of your ability.

  1. They Are Always Expensive

Although it is generally true that limos tend to be expensive, not all of them are. In fact, limo drivers actually charge by distance rather than by the hour. So, if you are traveling a rather small distance to get where you need to go, then consider hiring a NYC limousine because it will not be as expensive as you are thinking it is going to be.

  1. Drivers Control the Traffic

No, this is not true. Do not yell at your limo driver because you are going to be a few minutes late. It is not their fault that you did not schedule in a buffer time for possible traffic. You wanted the limo at three, not two thirty, so don’t complain. Don’t belittle the driver for your own mistake because they are just doing their job.

  1. Only Rich People Can Rent Limos

This is absolutely not true. Anyone can rent a limo so long as they have the money to afford one. However, a limo is not completely out of the range of a middle class citizen’s budget. To go a short distance, a limo shouldn’t cost more than a few hundred dollars. So, if you want to rent a limo, ask for deals from different companies so that you can get the best rate possible.

  1. Limo Companies Only Have Limos Available

When you think of a limo service, you probably don’t realize that you can also rent cars from that company. They have a selection of sedans, SUVs and vans that you can rent and take for a spin. Of course, it will probably be an hourly rate if you are driving the car, but if someone else is driving it, it will most likely be by distance. Talk to the limo company you are looking at, ask them what they have available, and discuss rates and whether or not you need or want a driver. Your rate will, obviously, go down if you do not want a driver.

If you listen to all of the things you hear about limo services, then you will probably never want to rent a limo. However, with this list you can hopefully move past any reservations you might have about dealing with a limo company. Ask them if they have other cars available if you do not want to have to pay for the limo rate. Don’t abuse the driver if they cannot get you to your destination on time. It is your responsibility to take traffic into consideration when renting your limo. Good luck with your limo hunting and hopefully you can find a great deal to use for your trip.
